I dont honestly know, I have seen Greiz Tinnies but I have never come across a belt buckle before, maybe David will have some input when he reads this thread, it is more his area of collecting
Ben
I strongly think it is a fantasy buckle.
Cheers, Ade.
Could well be Ade, just want David to have a look first, I have never seen one ever, but you never know
Ben
I too have never seen one before.....but I am also thinking fantasy piece.
Rob
The buckle is made from a material that seems new but your belt to be original.
Believe is a recent creation and has no counterpart in reality.
Thanks for the information and help!
A very strange and odd buckle and one that I have never seen before or indeed, having seen anything like it before.
Attached is an image from one of the Tieste catalogues which shows the exact same "roundel" as clearly, a documented Kreistag badge. The badge has the look of a buckle roundel in many respects to include the proportions and the positioning of the eagle and swastika.
I know that these events included raising funds for the NSDAP by selling souvenirs of all sorts, however belt buckles? For someone, a relatively expensive item which really only had a two days validity and real time significance.
A decorative and interesting piece and I do like the brass box and actually, the solder points. The strap by the way is possibly a deluxe example by Luneschloss (three legged device logo).
I think that it is an interesting and clever, post 1945 fantasy buckle.
Regards,
David
