Sorry to tell you that the buckle shown is a pure fantasy item, having emanated from England in the 1970's.

Thanks for the information, David. I'am a bit confused, because the buckle came with other good stuff from a family in Germany...

Even though this buckle is not in any way original, it is however still a very strangely "collectors item" for the pure oddity features. I actually know of persons who collect these 1960's and 1970's fantasy buckles because they are now, really quite rare and sought after (goodness knows why).

agree, fantasy item. austro-hungarian sturm truppen wore the standard mod 1888 buckle. by the way, what is that book ?
