I'm not sure if you saw my previous post a month ago...I think these Thompsons may present an excellent opportunity to explore the early WWII history of the Thompson. If they are very early Savage Thompsons, in the approximate 15,041 to 19,000 serial number range, we could fairly well pinpoint how they got to where you found them. It would be great if we could hear back from you about this!

Your ground dug Thompsons are a subject of discussion on my Thompson forum, Machinegunboards.com. Speculation was made that these were left by the British in April to May, 1940. I believe they are Savage manufactured Thompsons, and if they were left by the British in April to May 1940, they were among the very first Savage Thompsons manufactured. My guess is that they would have serial numbers in the 15,041 to 19,000 range. Are any of the serial numbers readable? If so, would you be willing to share the numbers? It would really help with our historical discussion and speculation of when these weapons came to Norway.

Hello, not so often here on this page, but for the guy asking if it is for sale, I have anserwed before and stil it is NO NOT FOR SALE , they are now in a museum here in Norway .
3 was found together in one spot, the 4th was found together with a Madsen Mg 6.5mm Norwegian made, in another spot .
