1930r M91/30 "Лидия"

Article about: The first M91/30 "Mosin-Nagant" rifle in my collection was a 1942r Izhevsk. I really liked it a lot, and it was one of the first pieces that got me into firearms collecting. Howeve

    Thanks, Nuno and Brad!

The only semi-bummer is that the bayonet is a complete mis-match. Such is life with these arsenal refurb milsurp rifles!

I hope to shoot it tomorrow!

I shot this rifle yesterday. It functions properly and the action is nice and smooth.

This rifle must have been sighted in with the bayonet attached... Without the bayonet, I literally could not hit the target!

This was kind of a magical moment. My Omi immediately recognized the rifle as being Russian from World War II. I mentioned that it was made in 1930 and she smiled and exclaimed: "Like me!"

Great pics in this thread. It's not a joke when people say the Mosin can't shoot straight without the bayonet The bayonet is not really meant to be taken on and off. I am sure you already know this

    Cheers

Thanks for the kind words, folks! WW2 really impacted her life and she endured so much. I'm not sure if you can see in the photos, but she lost her fingers during the war.

That's a great photo and i'm glad you got a rifle with a smooth action, as you know they can have a pretty sticky bolt action!..
