Default 1937 dated Mosin Nagant M91/30

Picked this up a couple days ago. Came caked in cosmo, took an hour to clean all of it off but it came out nice. I was told that this rifle was refurbed during the war and the stock was replaced during that refurb process, The sling slots have a lower metal slot and the upper part is bare wood. Every part is matching but is force matched. Any info on the wartime refurb rifles would be great. Thanks in advance

The stock doesn't have the typical box with a line through it and I think the stock is a wartime one also so I'm wondering more about this, The barrel and tang are both dated 1937 also. All Izzy parts

    Hi, nice clean example.

I am not so sure about wartime refurbs? I think the majority of these were post war done. I see the refurb stamp on the reciever. Not sure when this stamp was introduced?

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Ade, My M44 has the same refurb stamp on the barrel so this is a odd one in my mind

I've got a 1944 M91/30, Izzy like yours. Nice rifle! These are among my favorites.

I also think that the majority of MN refurbs were done after the war. I don't know when they introduced the refurb mark, but I don't necessarily see anything about it that would indicate that it isn't a wartime refurb. This calls for a study!

P.S. Given the receiver's date of 1937, I would be willing to bet that it was touched up at least somewhat during the war, but that's just speculation. At least it's much more likely than, say, a late 1944 MN.

This is an odd one in my eyes, I've been researching the whole wartime refrub thing and haven't found much yet though. And thanks! Got any pics of yours?
