1942 M91/30 Izhevsk Ex-Sniper Restoration complete

I received my sniper today - returned from George Tossan, who did the restoration work. I am really thrilled with it - restored to it's original beauty. I had George tweak it for competition - will zero it tomorrow and see how she shoots.

I've had a couple of these rifles now, deac as I am in the UK, both pre war dates and they have both been pretty ugly beat up war dogs. This is a beauty, never seen such a nice mosin. I would love to shoot one, I bet they are extremely accurate

The '37 repro sniper is one of the Ukrainian-made snipers that use scopes made in one of the original PU scope factories. A solid reproduction built off an very nice 1937 Izhevsk and good shooter.

The Tula is a trypicla refurbished rifle - sniper or otherwise - coming out of Ukraine and Russia now. They were refurbed and then stored in crates - slathered in cosmoline. They are mostly in great shape and solid shooters. All of my snipers shoot extremely well - but the restored rifle is amazing.

Awesome collection, Mark! Is there anything missing... or perhaps an elusive piece that you kill to acquire?

Well, there are lots of variations of these rifles - Finn captures, Spanish Civil Warvintage, etc. But, the only thing I'd probaly like to get is an M38 - the earlier version of the M44 and without the integral bayonet. Other than that, I'd grab other ex-snipers if I find them...and I still toy with buying a whole crate of 20.

I selected my Mosin from a full crate of 20 that was opened for the first time for me... The experience had me weak in the knees!

Mark A lovely collection of rifles/carbines there,I have a deact (UK) of the carbine in tip top nick very cheap too 120 pounds so I might start looking at the normal rifle length 1 after ive paid for my MP40 maybe next year....Thanks for sharing an excellent collection.Cheers Terry.
