I am curious, can you get Garands in Norway?
What are the gun laws like?

Here she be....

The photos don't do her justice. CMP model. Wood/Parkerizing are practically unblemished
( note inside of the slide groove on the receiver ). The only marks on her are a stripped
lower butt plate screw, and a small scratch that happened shortly after I got her.
I leaned it against a wall and she fell over.....!

It is not an import mark, but it is post WWII. I've seen similar stampings
on U.S. electrical equipment from the 1950's - specifically on 'Collins
R392' military radio sets, which an older brother collected
and used until recently..........

If you look closely on this radios right front panel, a third of the
way down between two dials is the same marking - though
made by rubber ink stamp.

( My bro had three 'R392's' - two were operable, and one
was for spares. The one illustrated above was not his ! )

Beautiful rifle! I have never seen one with a serial number under the 1xxxxxx mark.
