2 relic handguns need ID'ing

Article about: I have one of these with holster and Waffen Proofs. 9MM. the top gun does have some of the same iternal features. John by Edmil Correct, the first one looks like a colt but could be a Star B

    saw these on dugup.com they dunno what they are and im quite curious what they are too.

    they are labelled as "eastern european"

    Left a US Colt 1911 45acp and Right a German 9mm Browning HP

    I'd say the top one is a Colt M1911 and the bottom one is a Browning 9mm of some description.

    I concur with both ID's. Good eyes, gentlemen.

    Added an example of a 1911 for comparison.

    After a closer inspection I don't think it's a 1911 Colt.

    thanks all I am in process of purchasing the browning. It's only £45 so quite cheap

    Correct, the first one looks like a colt but could be a Star B too, a spanish pistol. The third reich bougth this model to spain and is identical to colt 1911

    Ah yeah, the triggers are not quite the same and the Colt has the little notch in the slide!..

    Wasn't there a ballesta molina type 1911 without a grip safety, too.
    Star I believe, but not the one pictured, which is a different shape.

    The Ballesta molina was Argentinian, and purchased by SOE in limited quantaties.

    The Browning Hi-Power is suspect to me, it is without doubt, GP35 on the main frame but the top slide is most defo not a GP35.
