42 1939 K98k

Article about: Well, I took it out shooting today along with my M1 and as I guessed, the K98 didn't group that well at all. Might've been the ammo though, I was using 1930 Persian and 1953 Yugoslav 8MM. I

Thanks M9, I haven't really even touched this rifle at all with the exception of the bore and a nasty old spider egg in the trigger guard. I've got a thread on this rifle already on gunboards, 42 1939 K98k . I've got more picture of it in that thread, though. I'm guessing the pressure ring devalues it a tad though, right?

Doubt that will change value. Good you posted on Gun Boards. Guys know what they;re talking about. Have a 1940 243 code kar my father -in-law gave me. Not going to fire this one as all matching like yours. Best Wishes

What letter block is your 243? My Israeli was made off of a 243 1940 German receiver with the SN in the F block

Here's an 'artsy' photo of it with a Yugo postwar bayonet on it, I need to pick up a 1939 or 1940 dated German bayo for it. Thanks Sam

Now that you have such a primo 98k to find a 39 or 40 bayonet with matching scabbard which is what such a fine specimen deserves will cost you about 2/3 of what you paid for the 98k. I had to travel that road to find a 42 bayonet to match my minty G41M I could not believe how much minty bayonets have gone up since I last bought one in the 90's. Good luck in your search.
P.S. I have good friends in Rio Rancho NM. I am in Prescott, AZ

I'm hopefully going to the local swap meet on Saturday to look for one, but they all appear to be about 90-300 dollars on fleabay though. My grandparents live in that area.
