Hello; first of all sorry for the bad pics.

Wanted to show you my shooter K98k. Got it for around 210-220 euros couple of months back. It was used in the 90s war and for hunting after by the owner i bought it from. Its a mismatch, but all the waffen amts are 655. The barrel is great but just full of ballistol and dust. Looks like the front and the back sights were altered a bit but it is accurate as hell. Can someone make out the original maker? What could the small R on the bottom of the stock mean?

If all the WaA`s are 655 it would have been made by Mauser Oberndorf...

Yes, Mauser. Early WaA was 63, then 655, then 135 at the end of the war.

    Very good maker ;-)

Very nice pal. luckily guys here were up on the WaA codes because the year and code was scrubbed. Kinda like the stamped barrel band and floorplate. Give that bore a good scrub. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there, thanks for the reply. Just to add, the bore isnt dirty its great, it has a coat of ballistol and that is dust and stuff inside sticking to it.

To be a little bit more specific, Mauser used the WaA655 between 1940 and 1942.
