    the missing piece looks like it could have been a wooden piece which would screw into the two holes near the front and the trigger guard quite an interesting rifle

    Hi gents! What a blast from the past!!

    The rifle was sold. I haven't kept in contact with my colleague, but I believe she received a VERY generous offer due to my efforts and she was happy to pass it along to someone that would be able to preserve and appreciate it.

    Good on you then!!!! I hate seeing people getting ripped off, I always believe a fair price is a fair price.
    I was at a garage sale a couple of years ago, an older lady was selling stuff and I found a WW1 Helmet and a Mills, she wanted $5 for the pair, I couldn't do that and gave her $100 for them, still a good deal for me...damn my conscience!!! LOL
