If you want to un-freeze the follower, try soaking the magazine in a solution of ½ Acetone and ½ Automatic Transmission Fluid. Works real well on antique cars restoration so I couldn't see why it wouldn't work as well on rust frozen mags.

Thanks for the suggestion but the spring coil is gone inside so it would be worse.
