To be honest..these rounds were probably dropped...however, I have heard that at the "Wall" in Gettysburg, on the 3rd day, during what is known as Pickets Charge..a unit still had these, the loaded one full paper tube of buck and ball, then emptied other cartridges..and took out several of the .31 cal buck ball... when given the order to fire..they took out almost what was left of a Confederate Battn...sorry I am not a true rasist... but I was kinda hoping for the Confederates..after all were they not the same kind of "rebels" that fought the British for the same reasons????
