I have always thought that as weapon manufacturing goes, the Brits have been grossly underrated. They have come up with amazing pistols and rifles, going all the way back to the Brown Bess. She was by far the Queen of her day. The Shotguns they made for fowling were the best in the world. In my opinion, they still are.
Not really it's a MK2 barrel with BF bulleted blank attachment.

This very interesting thread deserves a bump! I bought an early milled combination tool at our monthly militaria meeting-marked 'L & S 1941'-a fantastic piece of machining work, but you can see why it was replaced with a cheaper stamped version.
