    Question Bren MK1 selector markings?

    Hello everybody

I went out today and purchased a lovely 1943 MK1 Bren, its brilliant in all respects, but for the life of me I can't figure out the selector markings. The "S" in the middle is clearly safe, as it doesnt go click when I pull the trigger, and I can only assume that the "A" on the forwards position is for Automatic, and while I assume the "R" at the back is for single fire, I cant figure out what it stands for...

Does anyone care to enlighten me? :P

    Thanks in advance

Agreed - I'm a reservist in the Canadian army, and we still describe the C7 as firing in "repetition" and "auto". I did an exchange with the British a few years back and I seem to recall them doing the same. It's been awhile since I handled an SA-80 but it seems to me that the one I was issued was marked R and A as well.

I'm still serving and I've heard R being Repetition or Rounds. I'm an armourer and I prefer Repetition, 'Does exactly what it says on the Tin' as the saying goes.
