    I realy love the MG42,
But from thos pics I can't make out if it is a 42 or a yougo 53.
Check for the markings on the inside, barel (if it is riffled or not), reciever, etc
It looks in to good condition IMHO.
Last time I saw an original and working MG42, was in Kosovo 12years ago, while searching for hidden weapons.
The engineers cut him into pieces and thrown it into the furnace, instead of getting the paperwork done and taking it home with us as "instruction" material.
Instead we took a load of modern yougo M70's and -B's with us, but destroyed a beautyfull piece of history.
    Regards,
    Steven

Some MG53-s also have some WWII era MG42 parts. MG53 also looks like pretty cool if You do not want to spend 2000 euros but have only 400-500:-). And the prices are also rising because there are not so many on the market any more.

    Lovely MG.
Check Ranger Shop to see if they have comparable MGs and prices. They usually do.

Just took a brief look. Seems like they have 42s and 42/53s
