Hi Mate,
I was indeed going after a “worn” rifle, instead of one of the never issued No4MK2s which are pretty common on the market over here.
This rifle has spent some time in India, (based on the Ishapore screw in the stock) and was given a Micrometer sight sometime after the wars end I assume.
Otherwise, it was exactly what I wanted, a Mid war production No4Mk1, from one of the Royal Ordinance Factories.
I’ve also got a No1Mk3*, I will post pictures of it in just a minute.
No1Mk3* Made by Enfield in 1917, still had a barrel full of grease in it and grease all over the rifle.
No Import marks (Im in the US) but it did have a missing piece of wood on the right side in front of the bolt handle. Doesnt concern me too much, as I just wanted a Non sporterized No1Mk3 to go with my No4Mk1
Cheers
Both very good looking rifles..Thanks for posting them.. Cheers Terry.
Two fine looking examples of Enfield gun porn!! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum.
Hi,
another fine rifle you have i like the mk 3 better than the No4,s as i think the design is better, and your,s is first war. I have a 1914 and 1918 but would love another, thank sfor showing them.
Dave.
