Many weapons were sent over to the UK. My wife, Lez, "Larissa" on the forum, was in the Army at the time attatched to the ROAC, and was tasked with sorting through them. A senior American Offficer was sent over to look at them. She says all were destroyed. They had a Police escort to the smelters in Birmingham.

Interesting photos,I remember a Ballester- Molina being handed in when there was a gun amnesty in My area a few years ago.Most likely some ones souviner.
I know Peter Laidler has a Ballester-Molina that was rescued from a burnt out Argentine vehicle, and there were a few Argentine FALs that had been deactivated by Donnington by poring lead down the barrel. 3 of the FALs ended up for sale in the UK by a dealer about 6 years ago and had been checked by the Police or so he told me. I had a look at them and I quite liked them but I really wasn't prepared to go down the route of are they or aren't they so I let them be.
Just read this out to Lez. She was at Donnington and she says she never heard of any being deactivated there. She is adamant they were all destroyed.

A pity that fine HP had to give it's life for the cause....As for Ballester-Molinas...not much of a loss there...they were all worn out junk anyway...I had 3 of them over the years, and never Did find one that was any good. I always worried they were going to fly apart when shooting them...

The lanyard loop on the side of the hi power would lead me to think the hi power was Inglis made. Just a guess.
I suppose it may not have been Donnington, they could have been done at workshops and registered later at Donnington. In fact I only assume it's Donnigton as they had numbers on the side that started DON/????/??? or similar. I think they were also marked L38? As I was at the dealers to buy a Bren (Being my real passion at the time) I didn't pay much other attention to them other than quite liking them. I later bought a few L1A1s which being British, I preferred!
I'm not much of a Hi-Power expert (I do have a Commercial Mk3 and a deac L9A1) but do I recall correctly the Argentines making their own licenced (?) copy called the FM?
