I own a 1700s French flintlock but I don't know anything about them.
You have a nice looking weapon. Looks period to me. Right kind of wear and patina to the components of the gun.
I think they look neat in a display frame hanging on the wall.
Indeed, looks French or perhaps Dutch (?)
though not a martial pistol.........

Have always enjoyed seeing these old pieces. When i was a tiny kid (smaller than today), i saved money for a very very long time. Then after i had my birthday i took all the money i had, and used my bicycle for 5km into the small town to buy a replica of a musket.
Needless to say i was the coolest little brat in the field for a long time when we were playing indians and cowboys. The heavy rifle was as long as i was. To bad i do not have any pics, that would have been extrememly funny to see today.
