    Looks like an ordinary sporting rifle cleaning kit. Does it have any markings? What makes you think German?

    the strap looks like a german helmet chinstrap so I htought it may be german

    Looks 'sporting' to me as well - the brush seems to be
    shotgun size/guage.........
