The Good Old Days... The Price Was Right.. American Rifleman August 1962.. I had Just turned 16 that August and was already interested in collecting Military arms, so I got a job bagging groceries at a local super market making 55$ a week and purchased a few military rifles, and have been collecting ever since..........BILL

I wish that I was around when prices were like this, nowadays it takes me more than a week to earn enough money for a deactivated K98

Like Bill wrote that he worked for $55 a week, these were cheap in an ad, but in reality the VERY low ad prices were matched with VERY low wages. Still nice to dream.

This is true,in 1964 I was making $3 an hour as a union electrician.

Jeeze, where can I find prices like that now? It seems like you made a lot for $55 dollars a week. My dad made 2 dollars every hour, and didn't work a lot. All he could buy was a red ryder.
