Help needed with French Gun sight

Help needed with this French Gun sight its marked on the side 3x 17 and has a Paris maker stamp on it , it looks like it was used on a machine gun but can't find anything from searching , Thank you for any help

Hello Huet Paris, not for one machine gun.

Thank you for your reply it has cross hairs in it so must be for some model of gun and is only a small scope so to small for a field gun

Could be tank sight or navy stuff.
