    Default identifying revolver

    I would like help identifying a revolver that was handed down through my wife's family. It is stamped 1916 with cryllic writing. She was told that an Uncle took it from a German soldier.

    Can you be more specific, jtr1963? On a long shot, you probably have a Russian Nagant (cyrillic writing). Check if it's a seven shooter. If you can't post photos of it, try photos of Nagant revolver in the web;

    these may help you...

    Thank You - This looks like our revolver without the writing.

    I have two pictures of our revolver, but I can not figure out how to insert into this message.

    As Thanos says it would be a Russian Imperial made Nagant M1895 pistol in 7.62mm calibre-the standard Russian/Soviet handgun made from 1895 to 1945.
