Info on FN 1910 with loop below slide
I was just given a FN 1910 by a WWII vet who stated it was a Japanese officer's pistol. It has a black leather flap holster that holds an extra mag at the top horizontally.
The strange part is a lanyard loop attached to the rear just below the slide and behind the safety. It is dovetailed into the frame, and does not move.Obviously stock, due to dovetail and identical bluing.
But wait, there's more. It is a .32ACP, yet the mags only hold 6 rounds, not the 7 I've read about. I have searched every reference I can find, but no mention of this variation.
Strange but beautiful gun. Anyone know anything about this model? Was the Vet right? Hard to believe the Japanese bought guns from FN...

Re: Info on FN 1910 with loop below slide
FN has sold several pistols to Japan!
They got a tiny Japanese mark on it.

Re: Info on FN 1910 with loop below slide
A few thousends 1910models were shipped from 1937-1940.
Serials should be from 350000 to 460000.
Before the serial it should have the Kanji dai 大 symbol. means "Great Japan
A picture would help...

Even more interesting! Serial is 4547XX, within the range you said. No symbol before it, however. I'm going to take/post picture this evening. Thanks for the info.

Interesting pistol-the lanyard ring location is typical for Japanese pistols such as the T14 and T94-given the choice between an FN product and the less than well designed or made local pistols it would be an easy decision!

Fine handgun, jimafm...
Haven't seen one before...The loop is fixed only to left side of frame ; ease for manufacture i guess...Great holster...
@ paco, thanks for the info...
Regards to all, Thanos.
