    The red magazine is a bakelite Russian Tula, there are 5 generations of this type of mag and this is from 1st to 3rd, going by the photos. I am a bit of a Russian mag nut and collect all sorts of them. These are a run of the mill sort, but being Tula they are a little more desirable than would be an Izhevsk.

    I forgot to add, VERY nice rifle! I would love to have one even as a clone/semi-auto.

    Greetings Doug,

    Here is a Iraqi "JIM marked" Soviet/Izhevsk AKS-47. I do apologize for the poor picture's resolution, but I used an Ipod as that was all I had on me at the time. I thought you'd like to see another country of origin's weapon in Iraqi service. This weapon is a Desert Storm Vet, no other photos to share. I posted another DS veteran (A Tabuk) on this thread
