I usually don't buy guns in this condition but I had never seen one for sale so I took the plunge. Blue is in pretty good shape and the bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically it is excellent nd it is all there.

Looks like it's in pretty good shape to me! Nice rifle!!
It still has the chrysanthemum flower! That is rare considering the Japanese emperor had everyone ground them down to nothing after they lost the war. Thanks for sharing!

As Gizmo said It looks great to me also. Nice find, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Robert
Exellent rifle, did you get the bayonet with it? Both are very nice
Thanks Joe and Robert,

Sam
Hi Sam,
Very nice rifle, and nice to see the Mum left on it.
dave.
I got the bayonet from the same seller but was separate from the rifle. I got the rifle and bayonet at the Ohio Gun Collectors show some time in the early 80's. Both cost me $80. Those were the days when few collectors were interested in Japanese weapons. Things sure have changed. Here are a few more pictures of the type 30
The rifles seem to be increasing in value along with the bayonets which are worth more than most of the rifles. Nice combo.
