Nice rifle! I bet that sling is hard as a rock
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Nice looking and complete rifle. Nice sling and dust cover. Common but sad to see the ground mum. I agree I would like to see the full serial number to determine the series.

It’s a 29th series, the last ones made. Yes the sling is very stiff. It was sold as a T99 chambered in 7.7 at the auction I got it at. I am not very knowledgeable on Japanese small arms, but knew it didn’t look like other 99’s. I thought it may be a rare variant or something, and it was nice looking too. It came with a bayonet also. I later found out what it was after doing some google research.
    Thanks for all the comments.

Looks nice. I know the Type 99 was 7.7 but believe yours is a 6.5 if correct. Always read these rifles had a strong action. Hope ya got it for a good price.

Looks great and a matching dust cover is rare! Most of these dust covers were discarded by japanese soldiers right off the bat, they were a hassle.Collectors will find one and put it on their rifle to complete gun but almost all I have seen have missmatched numbers.

Yes it’s 6.5. As for price, given the sling and bayonet that was with it I think I did ok. As a friend told me “ in this hobby buy quality, you won’t pay too much, just maybe too early”.
