Japanese Type 44 Carbine

Bill, A very interesting example of a neat rifle. Don't know where you find them! First example of this sling I have seen, other than in books!

Hi Bill, some 15-years ago I saw in one Finnish warehouse five six such Japanese model 44 carabines. Only difference was that they had three large Japanese letters painted to their stock to right cheek, the owner told me that they were Japanese navy markings. Any ideas could this be true?
