Hi Peter, I am afraid to offer you advice without seeing pictures first. I know there are a few good vids on youtube about refinishing k98 stocks... let me try to find them for you.

Thanks. I really wish I would have take pictures of the rifle at the time I went and looked at it.He is not available now ,so pictures are not possible for the time being.GREAT Italian rifle you just got.

Thank you, sir! I just got a Japanese Arisaka... but it's giving me some major problems and needs to be looked at by a gunsmith... The Carcano looks to be mint... I'm excited!

franz if correct. Russian captures easily worth at least $400 with good bores.
