K98K Portuguese 1941 contract mauser

i recently puchased this K98K Portuguese 1941 contract mauser,.all matching serial numbers on stock & Bolt/Block etc,made by Mauserwerke A.G Oberndorf A.N H BLOCK
WaA 135 Waffenampt marked with Portuguese crest stamped on receiver,Cosmoline throughout barrel/block possibly un-issued.with expected storage & transport damage
it has been in storage somewhere in europe for a long time,some of these portuguese contract rifles were called back to germany late war to be issued to the wehrmacht when raw materials were scarce.it has some small scattered dings & dents but i think still holds its walnut wood stock with some laminat.& post 1940 cupped buttplate,i also purchased the Bayonette marked jwh by Staatliche waffenfabrik the scabbard is marked 4276 & S/117 G bayonette is marked 2394 so not matching.any comments / Opinions much appretiated,also any other information you can tell me please do so,or if i am incorrect about anything please let me know.,thanks for checking out my post,.cheers silas

Excellent example-they weren't 'recalled'-export rifles were held at the factory and not allowed to be sent to Portugal due to the deteriorating war situation and then issued to the German forces. Portuguese markings were applied at the Oberndorf factory.

Actually, as lithgow stated, some Portuguese contract rifle were not delivered and diverted to the Wehrmacht, due the operation Barbarossa needs (some shortage in rifles and other materials).
Surveying the RC K98's, it seems that the Portuguese sent in battle were mainly of the F block, with some (rare) G block; there should be an interesting sticky about that on GB.
You have an gorgeous specimen, almost mint and, for what I can see, absolutely not messed with.
Too bad for the "F" scratched on the safety (fire?): try to touch it with a drop of could blue.

It's usual in Australia to see an 'F' marked on the fire position of the safety lever on Mauser action rifles-usually red paint as well-this is a customs import regulation here.

It seems that each Country has some curious rules about weapons; just figure out that here bayonets, daggers and swords are treated as firearms: you need a police permission to buy/own one.

Due to some very nasty personal events that happend in my life I haven't bein active here since my first post last year,so I'll introduce myself again.
My name is Mike,I'm 32 years old and I live in Holland.

I bought a 1941 contract Mauser,and maybe you guys can help me out with it?

It's numberd H 1313. It has no Portugese marking on the stock,but a Waa135 stamp on the other side.As far I can see it is all matchting. It has a lot of dings,dangs and scratches if you look at it closely,so it looks war issued. It does not seem to be sanded or refinished. Has the German HEGE logo with a few approval stamps.In Germany there is actually a law that every military issued rifle that a person wants to use for sports or hunting has to have the gun officially re-examined and HEGE is one of the company's tho does that. No import markings. Iv'e bein told that early H numbers where never send to Portugual, but where used by the Whermacht. Can someone confirm this? And that about the failing Port crest in the stock? I've seen more of those online,but it seems strange.

Hi, nice rifle! For what I know, only a fraction of F block and few early G block seen actual use with Whermacht. Some specimen so serialized popped out from Russian captured weapons inventory, stored there for emergency use in the 50's
