law for uk deact send to germany - yes or no

hi, today i have a strange question like most of the time -
a friend of me who moved to germany was while he still was living in the uk always pesting me to sell him one of my deacs and now after he moved over to germany i dont want my deact anymore and was thinking to send him a present as his b-day is comming, but is it legal to send a deact over form uk to germany, i know the other way round is not working but maybe from uk to ger

would be nice if someone knows

i have an ex german deac luger here in the uk
and it had a hole driled in the bottom of the barrel
it was deactivated again to uk spec
ie they pluged up the hole but they put a toungsten steel rod in the barrel then it was certified for the uk
all of europe seem to have diferent methods
but i sold a uk old spec 1919a4 to a guy in spain and the spanish authoritys seemed fine with the uk standards ???
try speeking to the german embasy see what they have to say

thanks so far but i guess i first wait till maybe someone else has the chance to give his oppinion before i write to some embassy, what sure would take ages till they write back

but remember for oficials ,,they find it to easy to say no
before they will take time or put efort into finding out
so keep on at them for a true and concise answer
they are very good at saying no hoping you will go away
so keep on

It is possible and completely legal to do so as Germany is a member of the International Proof Commisson (CIP). Which in short means that they recognise and accept the proof marks on both live and deactivated weapons from other countries that are members of CIP, including the UK. The best place to get advice is to contact the home office via their website as theres where I got my information regarding CIP. As for shipping a deact out of the UK, I have no idea how to go about this as I have never done so, best contact customs about that one. Be warned though, the home office will more than likely give you a "non answer" which gives you a lot of information, but not a simple answer to what is a simple question.

as the usual croud will not ship fire arms even deacs

they just came here and took it

Contact DHL and see what they have to say. I know that when it comes to shipping Any sort of weapons to Europe-even knives and daggers, DHL is about the only company that will handle them, so they should be able to tell you exactly what you need to know.

i now start to think im better of selling it in the uk for pick up only or keeping it, as this sounds way to much stress to ship the thing and search for an extra expensive way of shipping
what a mess this all is
