Moved from the end of my thread on gras rifle is my 1897 martini enfield artillery carbine.
Since posting before i have learnt that they were approved for conversion in 1895 to use up stocks of now outdated martini henry R111.They were similar to martini metford mk111 artillery carbine mk111.
They were issued with cleaning rod untill they were abolished in 1899 this one has its rod channel so i am looking for one.
The bayonet is lee metford mk11 1888 and were approved for fitting to this rifle.
Butt disc looks like it might be special reserve cameronian volunteers of 1901 but i need confirmation. Please add more info if you know.

I have one the same with a butt disc marking of RFA which I thought years ago may have been Royal Fleet Auxilary but I'm changing my mind now.

Thats a good site, I actually thought of the Royal Field Artillery but decided it sounded wrong as I only know of the RA and RHA. I should check and never assume!!

    Cheers for the link.

Try Peter Dyson of Holmfirth in Yorkshire for the cleaning rod. he usually carries spares for such weapons. But he isn't cheap!
