    i recently got this rifle (French MAS36 Mle 1936) and i need some ammo, but i don't know what caliber is it. i have search everywhere and at this point i think is rare because there is a mas 36 but is slightly different than the one i have. any idea of what is this rifle and/or what kind of ammo i need to buy?

    It should be 7.5mm x 54 mm. But clearly this rifle has been "sporterised", hence it looks different to the standard service rifle.

    7.5x54mm French might be the name of it

    7.5mm x 54mm F, the reason i know this is because my firearm, a Mannlicher Berthier Mle 1892's ammunition (8x54mm Lebel) production was ceased in 1936 to make way for your firearms ammunition. By the way, did you know your firearm was the last military issued bolt action? but as Ade says, its sporterised.

    ce fusil est un "mas 36 fournier en 7x54" c'est une version civile des années 1960.
    ce calibre est quasiment introuvable car c'est un ancien wildcat.
    le calibre réglementaire du mas 36 est le 7,5x54
