MG42 crate

Hey guys,just wondering if anyone had any pictures of wartime transit crates for the MG34 and 42,ive been led to believe that no transit boxes were ever made for german issued MG's and that they were transported from factory to front in some form of light crate..I'd like to replicate one if I could but have no idea even where to start,cheers Sean

Hi Marc,thanks for the link but ive read somewhere that the 42's that stayed in Germany were never actually issued with any transit case but the portugese ones were..apparently they came from the factory in some sort of thin skeletal crate so Ive read...ive googled my lil butt off but cant seem to find a single picture..maybe im looking in the wrong place..

Hello, in the past in Alsace , one guy told me he had a box for the mg 42. I never saw it, I think it was a dream, I can ask on the Forum MG
