    Default MG42 v MG3

Hi guys, just wanted anyones opinions on these MG's. Before I left the military I was privileged enough to go on an exchange visit to the German School of Infantry at Hammelburg. Of course my favourite was to fire the MG3. I have fired a WW2 MG42 and apart from the rate of fire, there is not alot of difference between them, lets face it an old saying, "if its not broken dont fix it" I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience like this?

    Hi Ben,

I've extensively shot the italian version of the MG 42, called MG42/59. The fire ratio is also slower than the original "jigsaw". It was fun and I miss it!

I found on web, a test with MG42/59 ...don't look at the dork handling it, look at the "baby"

Matt, did the Italian army build and use these? This is the first I have seen one of these. BTW the bloke is a dork, he has no clue of the correct drills for the weapon

    Hi Ben,
MG42/59 is produced by Beretta under Rheinmetall License , with parts made by Motofides-Whitehead and Franchi.

They guy has no clue on how to handle the MG !
    regards

Hi Ben, I have fired one live as well. A true WW2 dated MG42. It was with the MOD last year.

Did you guys have a stupid grin on your face afterwards too?

    Cheers, Ade.
