The description of picture says that those are Belarus partisans. The young one has either an imperial carbine or one of those converted ones.
The bolt is soviet for sure. Imperial 1907 carbines are very scare item, even then.

You're right that the sights aren't sawtooth type 1 or 2 but they are not the carbine m1907 sights either-type 4 as fitted to 91/30s including Dragoon conversions (hexagonal reciever).
Agreed, what i meant is there is a slight chance that 1907 carbine was reworked into 1938, very tiny chance . As there weren't that many imperial carbines and most of them were waisted in ww1 and Civil war.
Although here is how the imperial carbines look like in that area. So it must be one of the conversations from 91 to carbine

Yeah I think you are right. Just remembered Cossack rifles have the abbreviation "Каз." on the receiver.
