My father's M1 Carbine

I posted about this a while ago, but never took the time to take high quality photos of it.

A gentleman owed my father some money and instead proposed a trade. Among other things, the guy offered my father this rifle. My dad isn't a gun guy, but he knew I would appreciate it... This rifle ended up in my collection as a result.

The barrel is Underwood 1944, and if the resource I found online is correct, the Standard Products receiver is also dated 1944.

This rifle was originally living in a ugly plastic SWAT/ Tactical stock. I bought the stock and fore grip at Numrich, which is like 20mins away from my house.

Very nice, looks like it wasn't updated to post-WW2 specs, no bayonet lug, post war sights either. Shot it yet?

I should have been more clear... when I first got the rifle, it was in a plastic stock AND had a mangled rear adjustable sight. The peep sight, push safety and barrel band w/o bayonet lug are repro.

Not ideal, but it certainly looks the part!

They shoot like a dream. I see it is low wood stock and some early parts. This one has been through a depo as most all have. I love these carbines. This looks like a keeper. If you would like to know more information please send me a message. This is my field of Expertise.

Very nice M1 Carbine Joe. These are one of my favourites. I too would have
restored it back to war-time spec and got rid of the yucky plastic
stock as well.........
