    Great looking Thompson - I'd love one ! !

Do they call these rifles P-14's ?
    And are they 30.06 or .303 ?
    I can't remember.........

I recall the British style bayonets by Remington are for these rifles...............

Hi, and welcome to the forum! Thanks for showing your guns. Very good examples.

Hi Walkwolf, the US version of the rifle shown here was known as the P17 and was in .30-'06.

The British rifle it was based upon was the Enfiled P13/P14 and this was .303.

    Cheers, Ade.

Nice guns Mr Fab ! Does the Thompson still rock and roll ?

I have a P14 that I rebuilt a while back. Well I say it's a P14 but only the action and the trigger group is from the original rifle, everything else was crap so I replaced the crap parts with bit's and pieces I gathered from far and wide.
The big strong action was designed for a magnum cartridge wich is almost identical to todays 7mm remington magnum so that is what I rebarreled it with. It's a joy to shoot with this cartridge, especially so after I floated the barrel. MUCH better than the .303. It's my serious long range rifle.

    US model 1917 stock.
