My M1 Garand Rifle

Article about: For those who may not know, the weight is around 10 or 12 pounds. Can you imagine carrying one of these around with you, day after day, for a year or more ? ! ? !

    The M1 Garand has a very akward way of loading. For what reason did John Garand abandon the stripper clip? With a cut down BAR magazine added, he would have had a 10 shot rifle, that could been topped up. No "ping" after the last shot!

    Actually the M14 came close, but late!
