    Hi Angus, Tom is correct.

    Another clue that yours, like mine, came from the DDR is that the bolt is blued and is not "in the white" (i.e. left in unfinished white metal). The East Germans refinished them. I have some pics of the MP44 in East German use if you would like to see them?
