Re: My NEW CMP M1 Garand Rifle!
If you shoot in the CMP Eastern or Western games as issued Garand match you will shoot from the 200 yard line at a SR target. You shoot in the Prone position slow fire and get 5 spotter round's then 10 for score in 15 minutes, then next is Prone from the standing position rapid fire 10 rounds for score in 80 seconds, then you get 10 shot's in the standing position in 10 minutes. For a possible score of 300. The first 2 you have to start with the 2 round enbloc then load a full clip for a total of ten shot's . In the standing you have to load 1 round at a time. They are great fun and you do get to meet some awesome people!!!
This will be my forth match since I got my M1. At the first 2 macthes I got to shake hands and get pic's with R Lee Ermey. It's a good time and you get alot of advice from the old timer's. The last one I had the RO ask me if I ever heard Of Inchon, He said "I was there with Chesty Puller"!!!!!! Gotta love those Old Devil Dog's.

Re: My NEW CMP M1 Garand Rifle!
Thats some of the Good stuff Steve.
This guy helped me out with a WW2 stamped TG with real nice round locking lug to tighten up my action before the match. He has some of that match ammo.
30-06 M1 M2 Ball USGI Surplus Ammo Ammunition
At the matches they used to give you 2 boxes of Hornady match ammo to use, but now you have to buy it!!!!!

You really need to come south of the border Steve you are not that far away from Joe or I maybe we could have WRF matches in different areas of the US

Re: My NEW CMP M1 Garand Rifle!
It's a matter of finding the time. I'm busy throughout the year with the job.
Holidays in the summer would be ok though - You guys would need to have
a few pieces you wouldn't mind sharing.........!
