Thanks for sharing! What date is it? I have seen people remove the reinforcement tape before, because they didn't know it was supposed be on there.
1946.. A year later than I like to collect but the timing and price was right.
Nice and not often seen. The device itself is called a discharger cup and was used with a ballistite cartridge ie one with no bullet not to be confused with a blank.

I've been going to gun shows for years and have never seen one so I jumped at the chance for this one.

Yes larboard! Even the squirrels are bigger in Texas!
There is also a YouTube video of someone shooting tennis balls with this rifle. Supposedly they fit perfectly.
