So I walked into a pawn shop next to where im working and spotted a mauser in the back case. I asked "what kind of mauser is that? Country of origin?".. The employee says " I dunno, its a mauser".. My first thought was "thank you genius" but asked to see it. Cocky and arrogant I was ready to give him an education but it turns out all I could say was "hell, I dunno either!"... But for $149.99 I had to have it. Upon getting home I did my own research... m44 spanish air force mauser. All numbers matching with original stock. Id love comments. Thanks guys!

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I would have paid that - if it were the same in
    Canadian funds !

Looks like the finish has been stripped.
Some stain and a coat of linseed oil
    will help.........
    Regards,

To me, anything that fires a 7.92 with a strong bore and matching numbers is worth what I paid for it. But the real draw was that I didnt know exactly what it was. The curiosity was killing me..

Sometimes knowledge is our best friend... Glad to witness a great find at a bargain price for a fellow enthusiast and WRF member...
I think the sale amount was better than average.. Perhaps even tops the going dealer rates... You did well IMO

I thought I had encountered every mauser out there. Was kind of surprised to find one I didn't recognize.
