My NEW "Typewriter" Smith-Corona M1903A3 Rifle

Article about: Funny that Pvt. Jackson's Springfield had a Straight bolt but had a Scope as well. Your rifle has a Bent bolt and No scope...is it drilled and set up for one?

    Congrats Joe!

Fantastic looking rifle you have there. Interesting that Smith-Corona made rifles, had no idea. Thanks for posting it.

Yessir, it's true! I thought that Smith-Corona was just another armory... I had no idea that they made primarily typewriters until the owner of the gunshop was showing off the rifle to me and said: "This here is a beautiful typewriter..."

I worked as clerk for an attorney 2 decades ago and Smith-Corona were the tools of the trade at that time. But rifle manufacture? War times are funny times at corporations. The rifle is a great classic style regardless of maker, and yours is extraordinary!

I'm always looking for as much info as possible! I'm so inexperienced when it comes to this sort of stuff. I suppose a HUGE question I have is: Is it 100% unmessed with, or have I been tricked?

The stock is unsanded and the screw heads unburred while the parkerised finish is even with little wear, all good signs for an original product-you'll always get some marks and dings on a military weapon from storage and handling in service even if it's never actually issued let alone what might happen once it gets sold out of govt ownership.
