I've run about 100 Rnds through so far with only 1 stove pipe jam. All of the others I had jammed up alot with hollow points. One good thing about the .45 is that you usually only need 1 good shot to stop the threat as it will definetly "leave a mark."

    Thanks

I must admit, that I would feel perfectly at ease with ball in the old .45 ...

I only shoot standard load FMJ ball in my Remington Rand - and have installed a shock buffer to reduce the danger to my old warhorse.

Hmmm, I'll have to check on a shock buffer. I like to concept.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the feedback, Burt...
@ Mark, the GIs fed her with a steady diet of 230gr FMJ, the prescribed loading for her...
    Regards to all, Thanos.

The thing looks beautiful. The only .45 I have ever shot is my dad's Kimber. That cartridge is a bit overkill if you ask me...

This thread reminds me of this picture I saw the other day:

That's right, Thanos. I only fire the standard 230gr FMJ with my RR.

A few months ago I bought a spam can of WWII .45 ammo. But, I can't bring myself to open it.

    Overkill!!?? Thats heresy!!
Why do you think the .45 overkill?
Imagine an American saying that about the .45!
Are you sure you are not European or one of those liberals, I have heard so much about!!!
    KIDDING!
I think the .45 VERY pleasent to shoot (but then I think the 50 is pleasent too...)

The .45 is a quite manageable round. All handgun rounds are under powered, maybe not the 500 S&W

The .45 is very nice and I certainly like that better than the nine.
I have fired the .500 S&W - and yes, its certainly gets your attention
