I remember practicing drill with one of these when I was in Army cadets in central Queensland back in 1982, they were heavy as hell to a 15yr old! I think mine was stamped 1916...I wonder whatever happened to the old school rifles?

I remenber one of my fellow cadets was trying to steal a rifle bit by bit...I don't think he got any further than a few accessories but thats youthful enthusiasm for you hey?

Very nice Lithgow! I also have a BSA 1917 No.1 Mk.3, though its been deactivated. Good to see you have the whole kit for it to!

1911 was a good year. Anyhow does anyone have a KRR marked Hookie in good shape ?..... I have an august 1908 Sanderson marked to the Irish guards I 'd swap for such.

I'd guess at the KRR marking being the 'Kings Royal Rifles' although I think if it was, it should be 'Kings Royal Rifle Corps' so maybe not.

It is Kings Royal Rifle Corps.... I am aware of several bayonets so marked..... but being they are bayo collectors getting them to part with such to mate with a rifle is about like spitting in the wind.

    Hello Mike,
The bayonet that should be atttched to your rifle is the 1907 Pattern Sword Bayonet.
Here is an example from my own collection, this is a Vickers bayonet which is a harder one to find only 10,000 made.
I have a few spare 1907's for sale or trade.

There was a 1903 Pattern that will also fit but this was first issued when the SMLE was introduced in 1903. The 1907 bayonet was introduced in 1908 initially with a hooked Quillon.

    Regards

    Jim
