Try looking at scridb.com and in the search type "Japanese Infantry Weapons " the first document has everything you'll need to know about all of the Japanese weapons, its a really useful resource. It about 500 pages and has lots of information.

Gents just picked up a type 38 Arisaka rifle w/ bayonet and scabbard. Working unit. Decent bore. Mum not removed. Not matching and whats cool is it has a bullet hole through the stock just infront of the wrist. Poor bastard got shot through the length of his arm while shooting the rifle. The gent I bought it from said his dad took it off the guy he just shot.
Came from one of the small Islands.

not really, but you have a great history to go with the rifle, if you could just get the guy to write it out & sign it, that would add a bit of value also.
