Looks normal to me, I've never seen that before either.
Perfectly correct P-38 takedown lever...BILL

I agree with Bill, I've just never seen the diamond before. Could be a unique peice there.
The lever is fine. The diamond mark could be an importer's mark?

import marks were normally behind the hammer. The take down lever is normal.
import mark is normally below the hammer on the grip

I'm going to say it was Hitlers own personal takedown lever.... thats what I was told on the other forum... hehehe.
Hi, i think this is a post war P38/P1 takedown lever, the post war examples do have this diamond shaped mark on the tekadown lever
Nice call phil. that definitely seems to be the case.
Too bad its not Hitler's personal P.38. I could've placed it next to the little paper NSDAP standarte I was once offered that was from Hitler's table at the Eagle's Nest.
