Very Nice ! These were likely used for target practice,
although as a pair, they are commonly referred to
as 'Dueling Pistols'.........

Lovely pair of pistols i love the older stuff as i like to research them, I have just got hold of an Enfield Indian colonial musket ( [percussion cap ) 1850,s needs a good clean but ok.

Not hi-jacking your post just adding to it. My picture is no better than yours but I also got one of the brass plate that was associated with the guns.
