Greetings all,
I thought I would share a recent pick-up that I found. It's an FN Model 1910 in 7.65mm caliber that is complete with holster and capture paper! The gun has seen better days, but I still find it amazing that it has the paperwork with it. The holster is a period one that the vet modified to use as a shoulder holster (I believe). He cut off the flap and added a strap and snap. There are no German markings to be found on either the gun or holster, so it was clearly a private purchase weapon. It was made somewhere between 1925 and 1929. Another interesting thing about this set is that the capture paper says "6.5" caliber, when the gun is actually "7.65" caliber. Since the gun doesn't have any caliber stamped on it, the person filling out the paper probably just guessed. This is my first piece that still has it's capture paper!
